How the Scoring Works
Do you think you can predict this year’s Oscar winners? Now’s your chance.
For this contest there is a unique scoring system, where you are given a 1st choice (Column A) and 2nd choice (Column B) per category.
The most popular categories are worth the most points. For example, correctly predicting the Best Picture is worth 8 points with your 1st choice, and 4 points for your 2nd choice.
There are two basic ways to use your 1st and 2nd choices, ‘Splitting’ and ‘Doubling Down’ Using the 2005 Awards as an example, where 'Crash' won Best Picture. The first two examples, shown below, are an example of Splitting your choices. The third example is the way 'Doubling Down' works, where you would score both the 8 and 4 points for the correct winner.
